Givemethebeatboys wins the Marble Hill Stakes
Givemethebeatboys has been a major advertisement for his sire Bungle Inthejungle in 2023. Winner of the Marble Hill Stakes, sold by his connections for £1.1million at Goffs London Sale (having previously been purchased by Con and Amy Marnane for 11,000 at the Goffs Autumn Sale) and subsequently placed in the Gr.1 Pheonix Sprint Stakes. Con Marnane has had a lot of success with a number of Bungle Inthejungles, "my god they are racehorses."

Marble Hill Stakes
Continuing the stellar form of the Jessica Harrington Stable, Theresa Marnane's Givemethebeatboys edged a thriller for the Gr.3 Marble Hill Stakes at The Curragh. Off the mark a fortnight earlier at Navan, the 11-1 shot was towards the fore from the outset under Shane Foley before being left in the front two out. Headed by TDN Rising Star and 13-8 favourite Noche Magica (Night Of Thunder) a furlong later, the bay battled hard between that rival and Ballydoyle's Listed First Flier Stakes winner His Majesty (No Nay Never) to get back up and beat Noche Magica by a head, with the same margin to His Majesty. "He was very impressive when he won at Navan, a furlong down you'd think 'how is this horse going to win?' and he put his head down and galloped the whole way to the line," Kate Harrington said of the winner. "He hated the ground that day and was green. He's learned an awful lot from that and will learn an awful lot from today." Con Marnane added, "He was a cheap horse, Amy picked him out in Doncaster but he went lame, he got a foot abscess. I was gutted as he was my favourite horse at the sale, but we bought him at Goffs then in October. He was bred by Airlie Stud ; Givemethebeatboys's dam, who is kin to the Gr.3 Henry II Stakes winning stayer Lismore and the Listed Prix de la Cochere winner Testa, is a granddaughter of Mahalia who took the Prix Imprudence when it was staged as a Listed race before going on to become an influential producer. Her Gr.3 Prix Quincey-winning son Johnny Barnes is a sire, while she also threw the Gr.3 Flore scorer Albisola and is the second dam of last year's Gr.2 Prix de Sandringham winner Purplepay. Her other descendants are headed by the Gr.1 Turf Classic and Gr.1 Criterium International-winning Ectot and the Gr.1 St James Palace Stakes winning fellow sire Most Improved.
