Sopran Aragorn (Coulsty) opened his account in the Listed Premio Rumon over 1500m at CapannelleFrench veteran jockey Gerald Mossé provided another masterful piece of riding on board the colt, who is owned by Leonardo Ciampoli. He set an honest pace and found extra when challenged by Midnight Season (War Command) and the unbeaten Bjorn (Acclamation), handling the very soft ground well to score by a length.

Leonardo Ciampoli paid €10,000 for him at the Goffs November Foal Sale. He is the third black-type winner and fifth Stakes horses for Coulsty giving him a 22% BT starters to runners percentage. His dam, the unraced City Maiden, foaled him at the age of 21. She has produced three other winners, topped by First City, who won the Gr.2 Cape Verdi Stakes at six and was second in the same race at seven and herself produced the Gr.3-placed Laieth (Dubawi). She also delivered Sea Fox (Kodiac), who was third in the Gr.2 Royal Lodge Stakes. The second dam Marble Maiden won the Gr.3 (then) Prix de Sandringham in France and the Gr.2 All Along Stakes in the US before producing Royal Secrets, dam of the Gr.1 scorer Sheikhzayedroad (Dubawi), among others.
