Clodovil 2YO Certain Lad wins Listed Criterium de Lyon

Certain Lad (Clodovil) sidestepped Royal Ascot, after notching wins at Redcar on debut on May 21st and at Haydock next time on June 14th, and was subsequently 3rd in the Gr.2 Railway Stakes and 4th in the Gr.2 Superlative Stakes, he was then 3rd in the Listed Ascendant Stakes. Breaking well to lead after the initial strides, he was shaken up in the straight to take a wide-margin advantage into the finak furlong and pushed out in the latter stages to easily register a career high. Certain Lad’s dam is a daughter of Gr.2 Futurity Stakes heroine Lady Lahar, herself a half-sister to Listed Sweet Mimosa Stakes victress Miss Lahar. His dam Chelsey Jayne is thus a full sister to Listed Montrose Fillies Stakes winner Classic Legend and half to Gr.3 Prix du Pin victor Jallota. Congratulations to breeder Barry Walters, owner C.
