Jungle Inthebungle follows in his fathers footsteps and wins Brian Yeardley

Jungle Inthebungle upheld family honour as he took top honours in the Brian Yeardley Two Year Old Trophy Conditions Stakes at Beverley. Mick Channon's colt is a son of Bungle Inthejungle, who won this race for the same trainer back in 2012, and he emulated his sire as he turned in a game performance in the hands of Charles Bishop.

Jungle Inthebungle broke well and tracked the leaders – angled into an open lane passing the two pole, he gained control approaching the final eigth and was driven out to hold Tin Hat by a half length. Half brother to a yearling by Anjaal, he is one of two scorers produced by a winning daughter of Listed Abernant Stakes winner, Listed Cecil Frail Stakes winner and Gr.3 Summer Stakes third, Paradise Isle.

Jack Channon, the trainer’s son and assistant, said: “His old man won this a few years ago and it’s great that he’s followed up. He’s a lovely horse, with a great temperament. He’s just like his old man – tough and hardy – and a great advertisement for the stallion.”
