Clodovil filly True To Herself wins for the McDonald family at Listowel

True To Herself (Clodovil ex Beat The Stars) made the most of her opportunity in the fillies' maiden at Listowel when coming home strongly under Billy Lee. True To Herself was fully ninth approaching the home straight and was pushed into seventh by Lee with two furlongs to go. The grey daughter of Clodovil kept wide and made good headway into third with a furlong to race. Lee soon got into the drive position and his mount swept past Zoffanyia and Proud And Elated.  Willie McCreery said: "She is owned by lovely fella Brian 'Beano' McDonald (and his father Tom McDonald) who was a good footballer for Laois. He was one of the best footballers in Leinster and this is his first horse in training! It's great for him as he bred her and I always thought she was lovely filly."
