Shining Emerald Sprints to further Group success

29 May 2016

Jaber Abdullah’s Shining Emerald confirmed his position as Germany’s top sprinter with a cosy victory in yesterday’s Gr.3 Silberne Peltsche, a race he also won last year in addition to the country’s top sprint, the Gr,2 Goldene Peitsche. The son of Rathasker Stud’s Clodovil scored from Darling Match , who was third in the Goldene Peitsche, with Donnerschlag a head back in third. The winner had five of yesterday’s rivals behind him when he won the Listed Jubilaums Sprint Cup at Dortmud early this month and has now won eight of his 18 races. He ran at two and three in Ireland, winning the Listed Blenheim Stakes at two and finishing third in the Gr.3 Killavullan Stakes next time out. Homebred by Rabbah, he is the best of four winners produced to date by the winning Zafonic mare Janaye, whose dam Saadeya was a Listed winner at Newmarket, Yarmouth and Deauville and was Group-placed at Longchamp and Ascot.
