Muarrab (Oasis Dream ex Licence To Thrill) is kin to no fewer than six Stakes horses under his first dam. Licence To Thrill has excelled in her second career, producing Rathasker Stud’s Gr.3 Molecomb and Gr.3 Cornwallis Stakes victor Bungle Inthejungle and Listed Cleves Stakes Victress Waveband, Gr.2 King George Stakes runner up Group Therapy, the Gr.3 (then) Norfolk Stakes third Classic Encounter and the Listed pair The Thrill Is Gone and Moonraker. Licence To Thrill’s dam is Crime Of Passion, carried Chris Wright’s silks to victory in the Gr.3 (then) Cherry Hinton. This is also the family of Gr.1 Poule d’Essai Poulains winner Style Vendrome.

Muarrab has had most of his local success at Jebel Ali, the track with the uphill finish, where he posted a remarkable eight wins and a second from nine starts for trainer Musabah al Muhairi. Victorious in a six furlong conditions heat at Meydan Nov. 27, he annexed the Listed Garhoud Sprint over this course and distance ahead of the Carnival Dec. 17. On Feb. 11 Muarrab was 2nd to Rich Tapestry in the Feb. 11 Al Shindagha Sprint but drawn on the fence for the Super Saturday prep in the Gr.3 Mahab al Shimaal three weeks back, he sped to the lead and they could not catch him. In the Gr.1 Shaheen, Muarrab and the crack Florida sprinter X Y Jet locked horns down Meydan’s home straight, the former edging ahead in a thrilling duel. “It was great for Sheik Hamdan to have two winners. He’s such a star this horse”, commented jockey Paul Hannigan, “They went hard and it suited him to sit. The other horse was very hard to pass. It was fantastic.”
