Devonshire 3rd in G1 Irish 1000 Guineas

25 May 2015

Devonshire justified her supplementation in the Irish 1000 Guineas by finishing a fast third to Pleascach and Found. Congratulations to trainer Willie McCreery and owners Godolphin. The Fast Company filly had been second on both her outings in Group 3 company this season. Having chased home Dermot Weld's Stormfly over seven furlongs in the G3 Leopardstown 1000 Guineas Trial Stakes, she turned that form around but was beaten by Kissed By Angels  a month later in the G3 Derrinstown Stud 1000 Guineas Trial Stakes. Following the race Willie McCreery was thrilled by Devonshire's effort. He said "she is an honest filly and is up there with the best of them. She gota great ride from James Doyle. She's in the Sandringham." Bred by Maurice's brother Patrick Burns of Newlands House Stud. Dam Nova Tor has a full yearling brother for the 2015 sales season and she is back in foal to Fast Company.
