Thousand Words (by Dansili – Verbose by Storm Bird) is the sire of Top Notch Tonto –Top Notch Tonto finished up a fantastic year in 2013 with a 2nd in the QE11 G1 to Olympic Glory, with crack milers Kingsbarns, Dawn Approach and Elusive Kate in hot pursuit. Previous to this racecourse outing he had won the G3 Superior Mile and the Listed Guisborough Stakes. The son of Thousand Words has earned $550,711 for his connections and he was ranked 4th place on the international rankings of Top Milers behind Olympic Glory, Toronado and Dawn Approach. Thousand Words himself was a very promising youngster when winning the Gr.3 Somerville Tattersall Stakes at Newmarket. He started his three year-old season with a third in the Gr.3 Craven Stakes, and he was beaten only 31⁄4 lengths when fifth in the Gr.1 French 2,000 Guineas. The Juddmonte Farms homebred is out of the Swinley Stakes second, Verbose, herself a half-sister to French stakes winner Acrobatic. The grandam, Alvernia, a daughter of Alydar, is a half sister to Most Precious, a French Listed winner and Gr.1-placed runner, who is also dam of the French 1,000 Guineas heroine, Matiara.

 

Lot 61 Bay Colt Thousand Words ex Sinegronto


Sinegronto is a young Kheleyf mare and she has already produced winning 2yo colt Finflash. Kheleyf mares have proven themselves to be excellent speed producers, for instance Twiggy Wiggy is out of Kheleyf’s Silver. She is from the family of Noel Meade trained Show Me The Money – a high class Mujadil filly who won 5 times, including the Gr.3 Cornwallis Stakes, the Listed Desert King Stakes, the Listed Tower Stakes and the Listed 1,000 Guineas trial at Leopardstown. Show Me The Money was also placed in the Gr.2 Diadem Stakes. Sinegronto’s dam Snappy Dresser was herself Listed placed in the Debutante Stakes and the Woodford Stud Stakes.

Lot 336  Thousand Words ex Kardyls Hope

 

Kardyls Hope was a tough mare for her connections – she won three times. This is the Fath mare’s first foal. Kardyls Hope is a half sister to Elite Hope – the dam of Top Notch Tonto. Tonto’s five wins include the Gr.3 Superior Mile and the Listed Guisborough Stakes – he is probably most famous for chasing down Olympic Glory to come 2nd in the 2013 rendition of the Gr1. QIPCO QEII. He was 4th top rated miler in the world in 2013 – only finding Olympic Glory, Toronado and Dawn Approach too good.

Lot 473 Bay Colt Thousand Words ex Rose Thistle

 

This colt’s granddam is a half sister to Flame Of Tara whose wins include the Gr.2 Coronation Stakes and the Gr.2 Pretty Polly Stakes. She herself produced Gr.1 Irish Derby winner Salsabil and Gr.1 St. James’ Palace Stakes winner Marju.

Lot 507 Bay Filly Thousand Words ex Texas Queen

 

This is two time winning Shamardal mare Texas Queen’s first foal. Texas Queen is from the immediate family of Champion 3yo in Europe (2003) Zafeen – whose wins include the Gr.1 St. James’ Palace and the Gr.2 Mill Reef Stakes.

Lot 582 Bay Filly Thousand Words ex Chaguaramus

 

Dam Chaguaramas won as a two year old and was placed twice at black-type level – in the Listed Stardom Stakes and the Gr.3 Prestige Stakes. She has been produced four individual winners including Mick Channon trained Jersey Bull (Clodovil). Chaguaramas is a Mujadil mare from the family of former European champion Sinndar.

Winning dam Island Sun is by Trans Island – who is well known for producing strong stock. This colt is no different – he is from the tough family of Gr.1 National Stakes 2nd Murawwi.

Lot 314 Bay Colt Notnowcato ex Hope Island

 

Notnowcato was a very talented racehorse, winning the Gr.1 Coral Eclipse Stakes, the Gr.1 Tattersalls Gold Cup, and the Gr.1 Juddmonte International Stakes. As a sire he hails from the Ahonoora line – which has produced such sire greats as Acclamation and New Approach. His highest earning progeny is Listed scorer Chil The Kite who was also third in the Gr.2 bet365 Mile. While he has also sired Gr.3 Gladness Stakes victor Custom Cut.

 

Dam Hope Island is a winning half sister to Moon Unit, who accumulated prize money of in excess of £200,000 in wins such as the Gr.3 Greenland Stakes. This is a very nice family – that of Champion 3YO in Europe Old Vic and of Classic winner High Top – who went on to be a highly successful stallion.

Clodovil is an ultra consistent Group producing Sire by Danehill. In 2014, he has sired 11 Stakes horses including Gr.2 Lennox Stakes winner Es Que Love, Gr. 2 Eagle Farm Cup winner Moriarty, Group 3 Criterion Stakes winner Gregorian and dual Gr.3 winner Berkarar. Clodovil is a winning nick in this family. Mirandassister’s half sibling Ohh Lala by Clodovil is a winner over 61/2 furlongs for Willie McCreery.

Indesatchel is a dual Gr.3 winner (Tetrarch and Greenham Stakes) out of the Danehill line. His best known progeny is Galtymore Lad who was a Listed performer at two years. This yearling is a ¾ brother in blood to Galtymore Lad and also to Bold Bidder (both Indesatchel).

Lot 623 Fast Company ex Forest Storm

 

Fast Company has got off to a flying start at stud – he was represented by a Royal Ascot winner in his first crop as Baitha Alga scored impressively in the Gr.2 Norfolk Stakes. Not only is he at the top of the table as a first season sire, he is dominating the rankings of General Sires of 2yos in Europe for 2014.

 

Forest Storm has produced 2 winners – Gr.2 Windsor Forest Stakes placed Fann and Listed Macau Sprint Trophy placed Amazing Storm. Notably, Fann is the dam of Black Arrow whose 3 wins in Germany included the Listed Winterfavorit-Trail and the Listed Grosser Preis von Rossmann. Black Arrow as also placed at Gr.3 level in the Bavarian Classic and the Herzog von Ratibor Rennan.
