Fast Company Colt Tops Doncaster Bloodstock Sales Day 1

27 Aug 2013

The top priced horse on day one was saved until close to the end when Nicolas De Watrigant from Mandore International bought a Fast Company colt from first time vendor Ross Moorehead's Glacken View for £210,000. The racey colt was from the first crop of Fast Company and attracted the interest of many admirers but it was left to Shadwell’s Angus Gold to play the role of underbidder on this occassion. Shadwell had bred the dam, minor winner Tawaafur, and campaigned her half brother Elhayq to Grade 2 success in the US.

Nicolas commented that "he was the best horse at the sale - an absolute standout - and I just fell in love with him. He is for Sheikh Joaan and is the first horse he has ever bought at this sale. He will be trained by Richard Hannon."

6 Fast Company yearlings were offered at DBS day one, all were sold and averaged at 68,333 which was the second highest average of the day for a first season sire.
