Sognando La Cometa started July off on the right note for sire Clodovil showing great promise in the Premio Paolo Castellini, and has subsequently been Listed placed in August’s Premio Criterium Labronico.

The team at Rathasker were delighted when yearling favourite Brazos (Clodovil ex Shambodia) came out on top in an EBF Maiden Stakes during the Glorious Goodwood’s summer festival. Picking his way through the crowd, he rolled to the front with 100 yards remaining. Owned by Saeed Manana, he will be aimed at a Listed race at seven furlongs. Racing Manager Bruce Reymond commented “I feel he will stay longer. He’s got more potential. He has always been a nice horse.” Bred by John O’ Kelly. (Pictured with this news item)

Value (Clodovil ex Shalev) won the EBF Maiden Fillies Stakes at Leicester in the colours of Mrs. J Wood. Bred by Michael O’Dwyer and Knockainey Stud.

Mrs. Ann Black’s Memory Styx ran an impressive first in Hamilton’s Maiden Stakes race, trained by Mick Channon.
