Miss Lahar wins Sweet Mimosa Stakes in Naas

24 Jul 2013

The British raider Miss Lahar (Clodovil), trained by Mick Channon dominated the finish of last night’s Listed Dark Angel Sweet Mimosa Stakes at Naas. This was the second victory for Barry Walters’s homebred four-year-old, whose Chepstow maiden victory in August 2011 has been augmented by two places in Group company and three at Listed level.

She is a half-sister to Gr.3 winner Lady Lahar (Fraam; dam of three Stakes horses) out of the Mujadil mare Brigadiers Bird.

“Mick told me she was very honest. I probably got there a bit too soon but she battled right to the line,” said Murtagh afterwards. We got a bit close but I felt mine was well on top. I rode her mother to win and now her – it shows how old I'm getting!”
