Winter Power wins LR Harry Rosebery Stakes

Winter Power (Bungle Inthejungle ex Titian Saga), stepped forward to earn a first black-type success here. Handily placed in a share of fifth through halfway, she joined the front rank soon after passing the quarter-mile marker and was driven out inside the final eighth to assert superiority in ulimately comfortable fashion. “Winter Power is a very good filly, she’s always had a lot of speed and loved the good-to-soft ground,” said winning trainer Tim Easterby. “It was a hot race in Doncaster last week and she’s got such a fantastic attitude that you can back her up and run her quick. She’s very fast and is in the Listed Two-Year-Old Trophy (over six furlongs) at Redcar, but may not go there and instead stick to five furlongs.”

 

Winter Power, full sister to a weanling colt, is a half-sister to Listed Land O’Burns Fillies’ Stakes victress Hay Chewed, Listed Two-Year-Old Trophy runner-up Flying Sparkle (Fast Company) and a yearling filly by Fast Company. She shares her second dam Nordic Living, herself a granddaughter of Stakes-winning Gr.3 Santa Monica Handicap third Bally Knockan, with Gr.2 Ridgewood Pearl Stakes victress Devonshire and Hurryupharriet, who won this contest in 2013.
