Miss Jabeam Wins At Leopardstown

09 Aug 2019

Bungle Inthejungle filly Miss Jabeam (Semper Fi (Royal Applause)) won the 6f 3YO Fitzers Catering Handicap at Leopardstown in style. Racing Post commented “A good finish to a competitive handicap as the winner followed up her Curragh win. Miss Jabeam settled off the pace and in the second half of the race she was dependant on the gaps to appear in the straight. When she did get a split she seized the opportunity and saw out her race strongly inside the last to get up close to home. Her trainer is a good operator indeed and gets sustained improvement from the horses in his care. In this respect, it would be a surprise if her improvement stopped here.” Congratulations to trainer Aidan Anthony Howard, who said “Miss Jabeam did it well in the end. They went a good gallop and Billy was able to bid his time and the gap came in time. I would hope there’s more improvement in her. Top of the ground is key for her.” Well done also to owners Newton Downs Syndicate and breeder Eddie Tormey.
